You are more than welcome to have a look around the internet home of the Iowa Geocachers Organization.  Many of the features of this web site (and of the IGO) are restricted to members only.  But membership is FREE and we'd love to count you among our many members.

We have been receiving lots of bogus registration attempts lately, so if you would like to register for an account here please use the link provided here to send an e-mail to registration@iowageocachers.org.

Important!  The body of your e-mail MUST contain a brief statement indicating what your interest in the IGO is AND the username you wish to register under.  Are you a geocacher?  An Iowan just getting started in geocaching or wondering just what this geo-thing is?  Please let us know.  Failure to include this information may invalidate your registration attempt.  Your registration will be tied to the e-mail address used to send this message.  Confirmation of registration could take up to a week so please be patient.  Thank you.

Interview with Iowa Geocachers

This months interview is with Des Moines area geocachers Mon”rose”, Sue and Mark Monroe.

They were among the first people to allow us to tag along with them at events and enjoy the day together.

Sue, how did you get your handle? Well, basically we trying to think of a name. Our son said to change the last part of our name to “rose”.

Interview with an Iowa Geocacher

The next interview with a Cacher is:

MizLinnie who is Lynn Shoberg from northwest Iowa. I met her at Hike-n-Seek in Okoboji. I was bidding against her for one of the caches, after her bid I walked up to her to ask for her pen, then promptly used it to write a bid against her. She called me on it; that's when I knew we would be friends. By the way, she kept the pen after that.

Can you recognize these fins?

If you said Dazed and Confused, you'd be correct! They are the subject of this month's Interview with Geocachers!

How long have you been caching and how did you start?

Interview with an Iowa Geocacher

I have geocached with Jan many times, nothing gets in her way of finding the cache. She is prepared, you can see that in her car, laptop, cords, etc, she knows how to use her phone for navigation.
